We are one of Canada’s largest cannabis processors, with a planned capacity expansion of up to 1.5 million kilograms in our Sherbrooke facility. We have the capacity to extract using either supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) or ethanol, which allows us to adapt to the different needs of our customers.
Neptune is one of the very few companies in the current cannabis industry with a facility that is certified to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) for natural health products and we are in the process of readying the facility and processes to obtain GMP certification for the European Union.
We have in-house laboratories for full testing and research and development (R&D) capabilities, which allows us to analyze cannabis and terpene content and quickly give the production team feedback as they perfect the extraction parameters for each type of formulation.
Winterization involves refinement of crude extract by removing waxes and lipids. This step is not necessary for our cold ethanol extraction process, as this process results in an extract that is already free from these undesired components. At this stage, the extract can be formulated into a capsule or tincture.
Molecular distillation involves the separation and/or concentration of cannabinoids and terpenes, which results in a more pure cannabis extract. We can then utilize this distillate to formulate finished product forms.
Isolation is the separation of individual cannabinoids such as cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabigerol (CBG), or cannabinol (CBN), resulting in a crystalline compound containing the desired cannabinoid that can be formulated into a product of choice.
Our licensed processing facility with in-house R&D capabilities is equipped for developing formulations of various types of cannabis products with specific quantities of the desired cannabinoids and terpenes, from the raw material to a finished packaged product.
With an initial annual capacity of up to 200 million capsules, Neptune has a licensing agreement with Capsugel, a Lonza company, that allowed us to set up as a large-scale Licaps® manufacturer for the Canadian cannabis sector.
Among the many delivery options available to consumers, Licaps® capsules stand out for their customizable and standardized dosing, ease and discretion of consumption, and portability.

Our cutting-edge processing facility uses the most advanced extraction equipment available to produce high-quality extracts. Before processing, raw cannabis is analyzed for mold, pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants to ensure quality control of materials before input into the extraction process. Every product is subjected to final testing to ensure optimal quality before being released for retail.
